The colander expands for use, collapses for storage and removes completely. 
The transfer tray also removes for easy cooking or composting anywhere in the kitchen. 
Both the collapsible colander and transfer tray slide all the way in for minimal storage and are top-rack dishwasher safe. A hand wash is recommended for the bamboo cutting board.
